Rail
Washington DC is serviced by Union Station (WAS) for Amtrak, MARC (Maryland Rail Commuter Service), and VRE (Virginia Railway Express).
Metro and University Shuttle
The Rosslyn Metro Station (servicing the Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines) is a 10 minute taxi ride—or a 20–30 minute walk—across the river to the University.
The GUTS stop is a minute’s walk from the Rosslyn Metro exit at the intersection of N Moore St and 19th St. The precise location is shown as Rosslyn Shuttle on Google Maps. Please Note: Many buses stop at this same place – Metro buses, the Georgetown Circulator, etc. You should board only a Georgetown University Shuttle Bus (which is blue and white) or an Abe’s Transportation Shuttle (these buses work under contract to Georgetown and look like airport or hotel shuttles and are either black or white). If in doubt, ask the driver if they are the Georgetown Shuttle Bus or GUTS bus. Tell the driver that you are attending a conference on the campus if the driver asks. Check here for information and the schedule for this shuttle. This shuttle is a great choice to get to campus if you stay in Rosslyn or connect from the Orange, Silver, or Blue Metro Lines.
The Dupont Circle Metro Station (servicing the Red Line) is a 15 minute taxi ride or 30-35 minute walk to the University. There is also GUTS shuttle availability from the Dupont Circle Metro station. The GUTS stop is at 20th and Massachusetts Avenue, NW. Check here for information and the schedule for this shuttle, which is convenient if you are making a connection from the Red Metro Line.
A Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) bus runs regularly from both Rosslyn and Dupont Circle to Georgetown’s bus turnaround.
